100-Ii Sea of Rape Flowers: A vast piece of flat and fertile land lies between the Qilian Mountains and Daban Mountain in Menyuan County. It is one of the biggest rape production bases in North China, producing top grade rape.
Qilian Mountains
The Qilian Mountains together with the Altyn-Tagh also known as Nan Shan as it is to the south of Hexi Corridor, is a northern outlier of the Kunlun Mountains, forming the border between Qinghai and the Gansu provinces of northern China. The range stretches from the south of Dunhuang some 800 km to the southeast, forming the northeastern escarpment of the Tibetan Plateau and the southwestern border of the Hexi Corridor.
Daban Mountains
The Daba Mountains, also known by their Chinese name as the Dabashan, are a mountain range in Central China between the watersheds of the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers. Part of the larger Qinling mountain range, it cuts through four provinces: Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Hubei. It is about 1,000 kilometers (620 mi) long. The natural landscape of the region, the Daba Mountains evergreen forests, is listed by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as one of the world’s 200 ecoregions that should be a priority for conservation.
Dabashan National Nature Reserve is located in the Chongqing part of the Daba Mountains.
