District Science Centre Dharampur functions under NCSM. It was inaugurated in 1984.
District Science Centre, Dharampur, Valsad, Gujarat is located on Garden Road, Dharampur in Valsad District, Gujarat. District Science Centre was opened for the public on 27th April 1984.
The District Science Centre, Dharampur, Located in the deep tribal belt has thrown open new avenues for exploration to the people of remote part of South Gujarat. Having a natural picturesque background, the centre has many attractive facets.
The focus of the centre has been on the natural and environmental reserves and the cultural heritage of the region. The Centre is continuously engaged in the service of the Surrounding tribal communities and carries out the task of harnessing appropriate technologies For the inhabitants, thus improving their lifestyle and consciousness.
The Centre has three indoor exhibition halls on “Popular Science”, “Perception”, Activity Hall with Fun Science and Traveling Exhibition section. An open-air exposition in the “Children Science Park” with 8m diameter digital planetarium & 3D hall.
Since then more than 52 lakhs visitors have visited this centre. There are more than 200 participatory exhibits displayed in three galleries – Popular Science, Perception and Fun science. It also has a science park spread in about 4 acres of land full of trees, herbs, flowering plants & many exhibits to play & to learn science. The centre has no holiday except Diwali & Holi. Recently inaugurated planetarium is special attraction for students & public in general. SO PLAN A VISIT.
District Science Centre has a unique facility of 3D theatre with High definition projection system and Dolby digital sound. Exciting 3-D Film Shows are conducted daily in this theater for the visiting public. Visitors can see thrilling 3-D effects and out of the world immersive experience in which the near realistic objects appear to come out of the screen right in front of their eyes. Presently the film titled “GALAPOGAS” is screened and everyday 4 shows are conducted.
