Our Maui vacation rental gave us the best view of the ocean we have ever seen.

This vacation started out just like any other. We booked our flight and our rental for a week-long stay in Maui. This was going to be an adventure of a lifetime. The first night we were going to see a real authentic Hawaiian luau. I was especially looking forward to seeing the native Hawaiians spin poi.

Once we got off the plane we went straight to our rental, got change into our suits, and then went right into the water. We enjoyed the sun and water until about an hour before the luau, we went back to our little home away from home to get showered and then changed for dinner. When we made our way down to the outside dining area we were immediately greeted by the host and then showed to a table right beside the stage.

As time for dinner grew nearer I grew positively giddy with excitement. The show was fantastic. The music kept our hearts pounding with excitement right up until the end when the man on stage breathed fire. That night we could barely sleep.

The next morning we had planned to go zip lining through the forest. I was a little scared to do this as I am afraid of heights. We got up early so that we could hike to the start point rather than take a jeep, so that we could enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna of the forest. Let me tell you there was so much to see on the way up. We saw many different species of birds and plant life. Just to name some of the birds we saw some Java Sparrows, and several Red Crested Cardinals. Some of the plant life we saw was the Anthurium (also known as the flamingo flower), and we saw a flower called the Bird of Paradise. We also saw some avocado trees.

It took us a while to reach the start point so that we could get harnessed so that we could go zip lining. Once we were ready we climbed to the top of the starting platform and jumped. There is no words to describe how intensely exhilarating and terrifying this was all at the same time. It gave me such an adrenaline rush that my hands were shaking for hours, but that is nothing compared to the Cheshire-like grin it gave me. I couldn’t stop smiling!

After we calmed back down a bit we decided to go back to our Maui vacation rental so that we could have a nice quiet dinner on the beach before bed. The following morning we had decided that we were going to get up really early to see the sunrise at Haleakala Crater, this is something that everyone must experience at least once in their lifetime. The view was the most beautiful and awe inspiring scene, there are truly no words to describe the majesty of what you see there. No picture will ever be able to do the real thing justice. For the rest of our trip we took it real easy and relaxed on the beach until it was time for us to go back home to our dreary day to day lives.
