Don’t Keep All Your Money Sources In One Location

When you are traveling, it is best you keep your cash and credit cards in separate places or distributed among your family. If you lose all your cards and cash, you would be without money in a foreign land. That is going to be no adventure!

Don’t Keep Your Wallet In Your Back Pocket

It is unwise to place your wallet filled with cash in your back pocket. You can be pick-pocketed in the crowd and might not even know until you reach out for your wallet at a local store. The best place to keep your wallet is on the inside pocket of your jacket. You can even wear a money belt under your shirt around you waist.

Keep An Online Copy Of Your Major Travel Documents

Once you have reached your destination, you should safely keep away your passport, tickets and other travel documentation. Before leaving for the trip, scan your travel documents and send an email to yourself. This way in case you were to lose you travel documents; you will have them online in digital form.

Get Travel Insurance

Accidents and injuries can happen anywhere at anytime. In case of any such mishaps, you will have to pay for all your medical expenses yourself. Purchase travel insurance before you go on your trip so that your healthcare costs are paid by your insurance company. Hospital expenses can accumulate to huge amount which is why travel insurance is recommended.

Get Your Vaccinations

Make sure you and your family is properly vaccinated for the destination you wish to travel to. Visit your doctor before you leave for all the relevant vaccinations/immunizations required for the country you are going to. You should also ask your doctor for any health precautions you should follow so that you can enjoy your trip to the maximum.

Don’t Or Leave Your Items Unattended

When you are in a foreign place, you shouldn’t trust strangers. Don’t even ask a stranger for a moment to guard your belongings or let you items out of sight for even a second; you might never get to see them again! Keep your bags on your lap or wrap its strap around your leg rather than on the back of the chair or under it when you are seated.

Take Precautions To Avoid Being A Victim

Never wear any expensive jewelry or conspicuous clothing which might attract the attention of thieves and criminals. Dress simple and do not carry too much cash. Remember how your mum asked you not to accept anything from strangers; that rule applies here!
