Purana Quila: Also known as the Old Fort, the unique Mughal-Hindu-Afghan style architecture makes it a popular tourist destination spot. It is the remnant of the maiden Mughal capital built in Delhi by Humayun (AD 1508-1556) who had also designed a city by the name of Dinpanah here. In fact, Sher Shah Suri – the founder of the Suri dynasty in India – strengthened the fortifications of the fort after dispossessing Humayun temporarily. Subsequently Humayun regained Delhi. It is believed that Humayun died after falling off the library stairs here.
